Fr. Edward Deimeke
Father Deimeke was born and raised in Parsons, Ks. After high school he went to college seminary in St Louis but he later dropped out after college and entered the Air Force through OTS (Officers Training School). He spent 8 years as an aircraft maintenance officer (including one in Vietnam) and then re-entered the seminary (Pope John XXIII). Fr. Deimeke connected with the Albany Diocese because he wanted to return to the AF as a chaplain and Bishop Broderick took him with that condition. He was ordained in 1975 and spent one year at St Jude’s in Wynantskill before returning to the AF. Retired from the AF in December 1994 and returned to Albany where he was assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish in Schenectady until Jan 2000 when he became the Administrative Advocate for Priests. Fr. Deimeke did that until he came to Watervliet / Green Island in July 2005. Father Ed states that he has "lived happily ever after!!!!!"
