Vocation Story: My name is Kyle Gorenski I'm 33 years old, I grew up in Narragansett Rhode Island. I thought about being a priest since I was 14 years old. When I completed High School I decided that I was not smart enough to be a priest so I decided to join the U.S. Army. I figured that I could still help people and I wouldn't have to worry about school. I served 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. After that I decided to go into law enforcement, so I became a Rhode Island State Trooper. Through all that time the thought of becoming a priest never left me. So I finaly applied to seminary. I was accepted and completed my minior seminary study's at Our Lady of Providence Seminary, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy.
Seminary: I attended Our Lady of Providence College Seminary in Providence Rhode Island from September 2011 until May 2014. While living at the seminary I got the chance to meet other seminarians from all over New England. It was a great experience living with other people who shared the same goal that I had. It was also great to see all the different types of people from all different types of backgrounds that God called to be a priest. While living at seminary I studied Philosophy at Rhode Island College (RIC). Philosophy was challenging but very interesting and fun. RIC is a great school I learned a lot there and had a great experience. Over all I had a great experience at Our Lady of providence Seminary.
