Vocation Story: In the summer of 2002, while in-between jobs, I took a few months off to really look at my life as I was still not sure where my life was headed. Growing up in a large family, I had assumed I’d be married at this point in my life but I had never found a complete sense of peace or clarity in the various dating relationships I had been involved in. I had thought about the priesthood but wasn’t ready to apply as a seminarian. After returning to work, I learned of the St. Isaac Jogues House of Discernment run by the Diocese of Albany. I moved into the house in August, 2003 and was able to pray and live with other men discerning a call to priesthood while I continued to work full-time at my job. After a year of discerning, I experienced an increased sense of peace, joy, contentment and confidence in my call to take a more serious look at priesthood. I’m now a seminarian for the diocese and the journey continues. Although not a native to the Diocese of Albany, I remain a proud member of the St. Louis Cardinal Nation!
